Project Description
A citizen participatory beach clean-up organized by WWF India in partnership with Plum, a 100% vegan and cruelty-free beauty and personal care brand to engage volunteer citizens in collecting harmful plastic and other non-degradable beach litter. Why a Beach Clean-up: - Gives a new breath of life to the immediate shore environment. - Improves the surrounding for the beach critters and removes obstructions from their habitat caused by plastic litter - Helps control the formation of micro-plastics from the breakdown of the plastic waste due to wave action and exposure to harsh sun rays. For the participants it can be a sobering experience which brings them face-to-face with the harm humans are causing to the nature and forces them to think and act responsibly.
