National Moth Week 2023- Chennai Edition

Bio-diversity,Environment Education
National Moth Week is a citizen science initiative that aims to study and record populations of moths worldwide. This annual event is held in the last week of July. This global event offers a unique opportunity for all of us to become Citizen Scientists and contribute valuable scientific data about moths. This year, WWF-India’s Chennai office is participating in the event with the help of our city-college volunteers. Observing moths and recording their data will be a rewarding experience and contribute to valuable research efforts. Volunteers will carry out a series of moth walks and surveys to collect data on moths through photographic evidence. The event spans a week, so you have the flexibility to choose your preferred dates for participation. An expert orientation session (virtual) will be organized to provide complete knowledge to volunteers regarding the subject along with a toolkit which will include the content required to conduct the moth surveys.
