Project Description
Vulture Count 2025 is a nationwide citizen science initiative led by WWF-India in collaboration with Bird Count India (BCI). Held annually, this month-long effort brings together birdwatchers, ornithologists, photographers, and nature enthusiasts to document and report vulture sightings across the country. The count plays a vital role in tracking the distribution and relative abundance of India's vulture species, many of which remain in the IUCN’s threatened category. By encouraging public participation, Vulture Count 2025 aims to raise awareness, strengthen monitoring efforts, and support conservation planning for these essential scavengers of our ecosystems.
