WWF’s Earth Hour began as a lights-off movement in Sydney in 2007. Over the years, it quickly spread around the world to become the biggest grassroots movement for the environment. Today, people from 190+ countries and territories switch off non-essential lights to show support for the planet and to raise awareness about environmental issues. By volunteering for this project, you will play an integral role in the Earth Hour Festival 2026, celebrating 20 years of Earth Hour with an evening filled with music, stories, and meaningful conversations for our shared future.
