Urban Biodiversity Monitoring, Citizen Science
The Delhi Bird Atlas is a collaborative initiative led by the Delhi Forest Department and Delhi Bird Foundation, with support from Bird Count India and other organizations. The atlas aims to create a detailed map of bird distribution across the National Capital Territory of Delhi, showcasing the presence, abundance and seasonal movement of bird species. The Summer Survey involves birdwatching surveys during May and June 2026 across Delhi NCR. Teams will include a bird expert, a photographer, and two trained volunteers. Volunteers will receive orientation and training before fieldwork. This is a valuable opportunity to engage with citizen science, meet fellow nature enthusiasts, and contribute to long-term urban biodiversity monitoring.
